HAVE YOU SEEN A HORIZON LATELY?, the group exhibition curated by Marie-Ann Yemsi, offers an invitation to shift our gaze and to apprehend the world through new lines of flight. Inspired by a song by Yoko Ono, the exhibition evokes the horizon as a metaphor for a space in constant transformation—geographical, political and sensorial. Bringing together the works of twelve international artists, both emerging and established, the exhibition explores practices that question how we inhabit, perceive and narrate the contemporary world. Through a wide range of media—including installations, photography, video, sculpture, sound and performative works—and newly commissioned, site-specific productions, the artists featured in HAVE YOU SEEN A HORIZON LATELY? engage with intimate and collective narratives, stories of displacement, memory and resistance. Their sensitive and committed approaches open up spaces for reflection where imaginaries, lived experiences and socio-political concerns intersect. By giving form to multiple perspectives, the exhibition resonates with Édouard Glissant’s thought when he states that “any poetic intention in art immediately leads to another narrative of the world”. HAVE YOU SEEN A HORIZON LATELY? thus invites us to consider art as a space of relation and reinvention, capable of bringing new shared horizons into view.
